This puja is described in the Skanda Purana, Lakshmi Tantra, and Kaumudi Mahatmya. Worship during the Nishith Kaal eradicates poverty from the devotee’s life, bestows eternal benefits, and ensures they never remain poor.

Nishith Kaal occurs around 12:00 midnight, marking a time when energy is extremely subtle. Although this is also the time when dark forces awaken, if positive forces are invoked with true devotion during this time, they manifest on Earth. Therefore, Nishith Kaal is considered the time when the tamogun (darkness) and powerful spiritual waves simultaneously become active in the universe.

In 2025, Diwali falls on October 20, 2025. The Mahanishith Kaal Muhurat falls from 11:41 AM to 12:31 PM. This is a special time to worship Goddess Lakshmi.

Diwali Puja Method the Scheduled for Tomorrow

To perform the puja on the Scheduled Tomorrow, first prepare the place and wear clean clothes. Purify the place of worship with Ganga water. Now, place the asana facing north or east. Install images of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu, along with an idol of Lord Ganesha. Next, light pure ghee lamps using brass or clay lamps. This symbolizes the eight Lakshmis. Do not light the lamps facing south; light the lamps only in the northeast direction. Also keep other puja materials nearby, such as camphor, incense, roli, lotus rice, coconut, sweets, betel leaves, betel nuts, a silver coin, a red cloth, and a pot filled with water. 

Now, first invoke Lord Ganesha. Then, chant the seed mantra to appease Goddess Lakshmi. Offer her a lotus flower, rice, vermilion, sweets, etc. during the Nishith period. Afterward, place a silver or gold coin at her feet and invoke her blessings upon your home. Reciting the Sri Sukta and Kanakadhara Stotra during the Nishith period quickly pleases Goddess Lakshmi. After completing the recitation, perform the Lakshmi Aarti.
