Diwali Nishita Kaal Puja: Diwali means the journey from darkness to light. This festival falls on the sacred night when Goddess Lakshmi herself descends on earth. Most notably, Diwali is celebrated on the new moon day, when the entire universe is plunged into darkness. Every home lights a lamp to invoke Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Lakshmi herself appears and blesses her devotees.

A very secret and powerful time has been established for worship on this day: Nishitha Kaal. This is the time when night is at its peak, when the energy between earth and sky is the most stable and subtle. According to scriptures, this is the moment when Goddess Lakshmi arrives on earth, and the seeker attains all the accomplishments.

Diwali Nishith Kaal Puja

While many people typically perform evening prayers during Diwali, those seeking tantric rituals and wealth perform the Nishith Kaal. This puja is described in the Skanda Purana, Lakshmi Tantra, and Kaumudi Mahatmya. Worship during the Nishith Kaal eradicates poverty from the devotee’s life, bestows eternal benefits, and ensures they never remain poor.

Nishith Kaal occurs around 12:00 midnight, marking a time when energy is extremely subtle. Although this is also the time when dark forces awaken, if positive forces are invoked with true devotion during this time, they manifest on Earth. Therefore, Nishith Kaal is considered the time when the tamogun (darkness) and powerful spiritual waves simultaneously become active in the universe.
