Labh Panchami Puja Vidhi: Labh Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of the auspicious occasion of Diwali. Labh Panchami is considered a highly auspicious and auspicious festival for the business community. After worshipping Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali, Goddess Lakshmi is welcomed into the business premises on this day. Similarly, Labh Panchami is a festival that promotes wealth and stability. On this day, businessmen worship their ledgers, accounting books, safes, and workplaces. Additionally, they invoke the deities through a havan at their workplace.

Labh Panchami is known as the day of profit initiation. In 2025, Labh Panchami falls on October 26, 2025. It is said that if these businessmen start afresh on this day and begin new financial work, business accounting, and ledgers on the Panchami Tithi, they will reap continuous profits in their business. According to scriptures, work done on Labh Panchami yields seven times the reward.  Therefore, on this day, Lord Ganesha and Kubera are worshipped along with Goddess Lakshmi to maintain a balance between wealth, knowledge, and wisdom in business.

Purification and Worship Method on Labh Panchami

A day before Labh Panchami, businessmen clean their shops, warehouses, and workplaces. They tie a garland of mango leaves and marigold flowers on the door. They decorate their workplace or shop with gulal (gulaal), rice, and roli (red powder), and write phrases like “Shubh Labh” and “Shri Ganeshaya Namah” on the walls.

This entire process is similar to Diwali. Diwali is celebrated at home, and the business year begins on Labh Panchami. On this day, businessmen worship new accounts, computer accounting files, or digital account registers. Businesses first bathe in the morning and take a pledge. They then prepare the place of worship.

Spread a red or yellow cloth at the place of worship and install idols of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, and Goddess Saraswati.  A silver pot is filled with water, mango leaves, and a coconut, and placed in the north direction. Next, a new ledger, notebook, bill register, or computer is placed at the place of worship. Offer turmeric, kumkum, rice, and flowers, and write “Shri Ganeshaya Namah” on the first page of the ledger.

If using a digital computer bill, digitally write “Om Ganeshaya Namah” or “Shubh Labh.” Then, chant the mantras of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesha, and Kubera’s seed friends 108 times. Afterward, light a lamp and perform an aarti for Lakshmi and Ganesha, and distribute kheer and sweets as prasad. On this day, businessmen and shopkeepers also provide bonuses to their employees, if possible.

Havan in the Office or Shop on Labh Panchami

Like Diwali, a havan can be performed in your office or shop on Labh Panchami. This is not just a religious ritual but also an energy purification process. The fire of the havan destroys negative energies, purifies the workplace, and generates positive energy, bringing progress and stability to the workplace.

  • Cow ghee
  • Camphor
  • Cloves
  • Cardamom
  • Havan Kund
  • Gugul
  • Frankincense

Preparation for the Havan

On Labh Panchami, purify your workplace. First, install an idol of Goddess Lakshmi as described above. Then, worship your account books. After worshipping your account books, prepare for the havan at your workplace.

Place the havan wood in the havan kund. Pour cow ghee on it. Then, take camphor and light the havan fire. Now, offer cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, gugul, frankincense, etc. into the havan fire.  Then, chant the seed mantra of Shri Ganesh 21 times along with the offering in the havan.

Following this, chant the seed mantras of Goddess Lakshmi 108 times. Then, chant the seed mantras of Lord Kubera 21/51/108 times. After the havan is over, perform aarti of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha, followed by distribution of prasad. If you wish, you can also install the Kubera Yantra and Shri Yantra at your workplace on this day.

Labh Panchami Ledger Puja

After the havan, tie 11 cowries in a red cloth and place them in your workplace’s safe while invoking Goddess Lakshmi. If possible, businessmen should light a ghee lamp in front of Goddess Lakshmi and recite this word on this day. Doing so brings prosperity to the workplace.

Labh Panchami is called Lakshmi Tithi. Performing havan and worship at the workplace on this day opens new doors to financial inflow.  Positive energy permeates the atmosphere. It is said that performing havans on this day bestows the auspicious blessings of all the planets upon the workplace. The practitioner’s mind and intellect gain clarity regarding financial decisions. According to astrological principles, making new investments, starting a new business, dealing in shares or property, or making decisions related to money on this day leads to long-term success.
