Morning Sankalp and Sargi: First, wake up in the Brahmamuhurta, bathe, and wear clean clothes. Then, receive Sargi from an elderly woman in the house or your mother-in-law. Sargi is the offering made before the fast begins. Next, worship Lord Ganesha and offer Arghya to the Sun God. Make a resolution to observe the Karwa Chauth fast. Then, apply the 16 adornments (red clothes, bindi, vermillion, bangles, etc.).
Preparing the Puja Site: Clean the northeast corner of the house. Place a wooden platform and drape a red cloth over it. Decorate the puja area well. Place a picture of Karwa Mata on the wall. Place idols of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi, and Goddess Parvati on the platform. Take a pot and put Ganga water, a coin, rice grains, turmeric, and betel nut in it. Decorate it with mango or betel leaves.
Ganesha Worship: Ganesha is the first worshipped deity, so before beginning the Karwa Chauth puja, be sure to worship him. Offer durva (sunflower grass), flowers, fruits, modaks, and sweets to Ganesha. Chant Om Gan Ganpataye Namah 108 times. By invoking Ganesha in this way, invite him to join the puja.
Karwa Mata Worship: Take two clay pots, clean them thoroughly, fill one with Ganga water, add a coin and rice grains. Put grains and rice in the other pot. Tie the pots with vermillion and draw a swastika on them. Offer flowers, fruits, and sweets. Light a ghee lamp. The ghee lamp should remain lit from the beginning to the end of the puja. Afterward, offer Goddess Parvati cosmetics and flowers, fruits, and sweets.
Reading the Karwa Chauth Katha: The Karwa Chauth Katha is recited with the women of the family or the women in the neighborhood. Therefore, all women should sit together and read or listen to the story, holding rice grains in their hands. After listening to the story, offer the rice grains to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Karwa Chauth Aarti: After listening to the Karwa Chauth Katha, perform the Aarti of Goddess Karwa, and all women circumambulate their respective puja materials. After that, give sweets and a karwa to your mother-in-law.
Offering to the Moon: After reciting the Karwa Chauth Katha and Aarti, go to the terrace. Light a lamp in the corner of a sieve. First, view the moon through the sieve, then view your husband. Offer arghya to the moon from a pot. While offering arghya, chant the mantra “Om Chandraye Namah.” Pray for your husband’s long life. First, seek blessings from the moon with folded hands, then touch your husband’s feet for blessings. Drink water and sweets from your husband’s hands, and only then break your fast.

Thus, by performing the puja according to the complete method given above, one is sure to receive the benefits of Karwa Chauth.
Karwa Chauth Vrat Story
bahut samay pahale kee katha hai, ek saahookaar ke saat bete the jinakee ek bahan karava thee. un saaton bhaeeyon ko apanee bahan se bahut pyaar tha. Ve pahale use khaana khilaate aur baad mein svayan khaate the. ek baar unkee bahan sasural se maayake aaee huee thee.
Shaam ko bhaee jab apana kaam band kar ghar laute to dekha unakee bahan bahut bechain thee. Sabhee bhaee bhojan karane baithe to unhonne apanee bahan se bhee khaane ka aagrah kiya, lekin bahan ne bataaya ki usaka aaj karava chauth ka nirjal vrat hai aur vah khaana sirph chandrama ko dekhakar use arghy dekar hee kha sakatee hai.
Choonki Chandrama abhee tak nahin nikala hai, isalie vah bhookh-pyaas se vyaakul ho uthee. basabase chhote bhaee ko apanee bahan kee haalat dekhee nahin jaatee aur vah door peepal ke ped par ek deepak jalaakar chhalanee kee ot mein rakh deta hai. door se dekhane par vah aisa prateet hota hai ki jaise chaturthee ka chaand udit ho raha ho.
Isake baad bhaee apanee bahan se kahata hai ki chaand nikal aaya hai, tum use arghy dekar khaana kha sakatee ho. Bahan khush hokar seedhiyaan chadhakar chaand ko dekhatee hai, use arghy dekar khaana khaane baith jaatee hai.
pahala nivaala munh mein daalate hee use chheenk aa jaatee hai. Doosara nivaala khaane lagatee hai to usamen baal nikal aata hai aur jaise hee teesara nivaala munh mein daalane lagatee hai to usake pati kee mrtyu ka samaachaar use milata hai. Vah baukhala jaatee hai usakee bhaabhee use sachchaee se avagat karaatee hain ki galat tareeke se karava chauth ka vrat tootane ke kaaran devata usase naaraaj ho gae hain, isalie aisa hua hai.
sachchai janane ke baad karava nishchay karati hai ki vah apne pati ka antim sanskar nahi hone degi aur apane sateetv se unhen punarjivan dilakar rahegi. Vah poore ek saal tak apane pati ke shav ke paas baithi rahati hai. usaki dekhabhaal karati hai. usake oopar ugane vaali suinuma ghaas ko vah ekatrit karati jaati hai.
ek saal baad phir karava chauth ka din aata hai. Usakee sabhee bhaabhiyaan karava chauth ka vrat rakhatee hain. Jab bhaabhiyaan usase aasheervaad lene aatee hain to vah pratyek bhaabhee se yam sooee le lo, piy sooee de do, mujhe bhee apanee jaisee suhaagin bana do aisa aagrah karatee hai, lekin har baar bhaabhee use agalee bhaabhee se aagrah karane ka kah chalee jaatee hai.
Is prakaar jab chhathe nambar kee bhaabhee aatee hai to karava unase bhee yahee aagrah karatee hai to bhaabhee use bataatee hai ki kyonki sabase chhote bhaee kee vajah se usaka vrat toota tha isalie usakee patnee mein hee yah shakti hai ki vah usake pati ko jeevit kar sake. Isalie jab aae to use pakad lena aur jab tak vah tumhaare pati ko jeevit na karen to use chhodana nahin. Yah kah bhaabhee chalee jaatee hai.
Sabase ant mein chhotee bhaabhee aatee hain. Karava unase bhee use suhaagin banaane ka aagrah karatee hai. lekin vah taal matol karane lagatee hai. yah dekhakar karava unhen pakad letee hai aur unhe apane suhaag ko jinda karane ke lie kahatee hai. Bhaabhee khud ko chhudaane ke lie bahut prayatn karatee hai par vah karava use nahin chhodatee hai.
Ant mein karava kee tapasya dekhakar bhaabhee maan jaatee hai aur chhotee ungalee ko cheerakar usamen se jo amrt nikalata hai vah usake pati ke munh mein daalatee hai. Usaka pati shree ganesh shree ganesh karake uth khada hota hai. Is prakaar apanee chhotee bhaabhee ke maadhyam se karava ko apana suhaag vaapas milata hai.
hey ganesh jee, he gauree maiya jis prakaar se karava ko apana suhaag vaapas mila aur use suhaagan hone ka aasheervaad mila usee prakaar se sabhee suhaagin mahilaon ko akhand suhaagin hone ka aasheervaad pradaan karo.
