Overall, Gyan Panchami is not just a special festival of any religion or sect; it is a time for self-awakening and mental strength. Just as Jains pray for inner peace and inner strength on this day, so too do those of the Sanatan Dharma (Sanskrit religion) who invoke Goddess Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Lord Ganesha for wisdom, strength, and prosperity.  This festival teaches us that by igniting the soul’s light, we can light the lamp of knowledge hidden within us and, like the Tirthankaras, we too can attain salvation.
